Last night I had the opportunity to experience tradition at it’s finest – Saint Xavier High School football. Not only did I get to see an incredible football game. The fine staff of St. X were gracious hosts. It was interesting and educational listening to stories about current and past players. And it finally clicked for me when native Louisvillians ask where you went to high school immediately after learning your name.
Traditions Build Brand Allegiance
The foundation of any tradition is built upon stories that influence us to be a part of something bigger than ourselves. Tradition keeps us coming back year after year to share stories from the past, as well as add new ones. Tradition will cause us to wear the same game gear, buy the same products and share memories associated with them.
Traditions Influence
Not only does traditions help us recall stories from the past, but they also influence those that have never heard them. I know that I’ll never be able to go back in time so that I can be part of the brotherhood, but being able to spend a moment as part of the current story has made me appreciate the tradition of one of Louisville’s finest.
What tradition are you a part of and what traditions are you creating?
